Last weekend me and some friends threw a birthday party to my boyfriend. I took him blindfolded to the beach, where everyone else waited with their waterguns filled with alchoholic drinks. So my boyfriend got all wet and sticky before he could even realise where exactly he was. We grilled for a while at the beach and went to our friends place to have a sauna. We had agreed early not to go to a bar, and I don't think I even have to tell the rest of the story... But all togather it was a great evening. A really good time with awesome people.
To the point of this post. This is the birthday present I made for my boyfriend.
I really wanted to give something handmade. I thought he'd appreciate that. I had other ideas too, but I think I'll save them for later. I found this nice gray shirt on sale, so I decided to paint something on it. I had some troubles on deciding the technique. I was going to use a template, but that would've cut out on the details, so I went free hand.
I'm pretty happy with how it came out. You don't have to suffer from very severe case of geekery to recognize this as the guy dressed in Brotherhood of steel armor from Fallout 3 packaging design and merch. I thought it was appropriate to paint this since we're both fans of the game series. And it's one of the most bad ass cover artworks I know.
